Dr Chathyushya K B is a rare blend — a classically-trained life scientist with the entrepreneurial instinct to translate research into impact. She is the Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Manna Biotech Pvt. Ltd., and the architect of the company's research, training, and commercial strategy.
Her academic journey is distinguished by three of India's most competitive research qualifications — the CSIR-NET Junior Research Fellowship, the DBT Junior Research Fellowship, and State Level Eligibility Tests (SLET) in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. She is an alumna of the ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition, where she honed her skills in translational biomedical research under some of India's leading medical scientists.
Dr Chathyushya K B's scientific expertise spans antimicrobial resistance (AMR), symbiotic research, host–microbial interactions across plant, animal and cell-line systems, and genomics-based translational research. She also brings unusual depth in bioinformatics, scientific writing, and patents law — an uncommon combination that allows her to guide students not just from hypothesis to data, but from data to publication to intellectual property.
As a mentor, she has personally guided over 500 graduate and postgraduate students through their research projects across biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, and life sciences. Many have gone on to top research institutes, global pharma companies, and leading Indian universities. Her teaching style balances scientific rigour with practical employability — the Manna Biotech difference.
Beyond the lab, she leads the strategic direction of the Manna Biotech group — encompassing five complementary entities spanning research services, education, life sciences products, nutraceuticals, and not-for-profit innovation. Under her leadership, Manna Biotech has secured ISO 9001:2015 certification, LSSSDC affiliation, NSDC recognition under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and both MSME and Startup India registrations.
